Daytime Atmospheric Transfer Function Study (Daytime Seeing Study)

Abstract

It is of critical importance to know the temporal and spatial character of the isoplanatic patch, in order to access or design predetection compensation systems. A system which uses the edge of the sun as an extended target in order to determine the daytime spatial and temporal characteristics of the isoplanatic patch is described. Preliminary data gathered at the Rye Canyon Solar Observatory are presented.
