Safety Evaluation Tests of Conductive Floor Coatings for Ordnance Facilities

Abstract

This report assembles and summarizes the results of tests conducted for two years at the Naval Weapons Center to study the effectiveness and suitability of electrically conductive coatings (paints, cleaners, and toppings) on floors in areas where work on propellants, high explosives, pyrotechnics, and other high-energy materials is involved. Criteria used to evaluate the coatings are discussed, in addition to the advantages and limitations of each of the coatings. Variables to be controlled in future tests are also discussed. (Author)
