Characteristics of the Holographically Reconstructed Image of a Point Source of Radiation

Abstract

The focal volume characteristics of an image obtained from the reconstruction of a hologram of a point source of radiation are described. The similarity between the reconstructed image and a point image obtained from a diffraction-limited lens is explained. The focal depth limitations of the reconstructed image are experimentally presented.
