Some Comments on Power Combiner/Switch Matrices,

Abstract

High-power signals can be switched with low-power switch control using hybrid matrices and parallel amplifiers. This study treats the effects of input phase and amplitude errors on the outputs of combiner/switch matrices. Worst-case isolation and loss are considered as a function of the errors mentioned and of the unbalance of the hybrids forming the matrix. Effects of each parameter are considered individually; a computer program to study the effects of several errors simultaneously is listed in the report.
