Soviet and East European Developments in Surface Effect Vehicles

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of the history and state of the art of Soviet and East European developments in surface effect vehicles. Part I reviews 22 vehicles which were designed or built between 1927 and the mid 1960's. Part II of the report focuses on the operational surface- effect vehicles of the Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Poland and Romania. Air lubricated vessels are not covered in this report.
