Dredged Material Research: Notes, News, Reviews, etc.

Abstract

A major marsh development study was initiated in July 1975 at a small dredged material island in the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) in Georgia. The site is located in Buttermilk Sound, on the west side of Little St. Simons Island. The Buttermilk Sound site was selected because it offers the potential to evaluate the survival and productivity of several species of marsh plants under different fertilization and tidal influences in a relatively homogeneous environment.
