Abstract

This report is one of a series on air pollution, water pollution, and solid waste survey guidelines. It is primarily for the use of installation planning, operating, and maintenance personnel. Guidelines for development of a comprehensive solid waste management plan are presented. The report contains information on determination of legal constraints, characterization of specific waste sources, evaluation of current management programs, and establishment of survey requirements. Techniques for the determination of the physical composition of waste streams and the amounts of waste material are described, along with guidelines for developing sampling programs. (Author)
