Experimental Test Battery for Marine Biosystems Personnel,

Abstract

There has been considerable speculation as to the particular attributes which are useful or necessary in persons training marine mammals. Some individuals who are experienced in performing that function hold that whatever these attributes are, they are difficult or impossible to measure by psychometric techniques. It seems reasonable to at least explore the possibility that certain job-related factors can be measured reliably and related to a criteria of job success. In an attempt to test the hypothesis, an experimental test battery was compiled. The areas identified and the test and inventories selected or developed to tap them are presented and discussed briefly.
