Ideal Flow Over Arbitrary Bodies and Between Parallel Walls Solved by the Finite Element Method and Galerkin's Integral.

Abstract

A detailed formulation of the finite element method for inviscid, incompressible flow over arbitrary bodies between parallel walls has been conducted. The formulation involved triangular and quadrilateral elements. The solutions obtained using different shapes and numbers of elements are compared. A cursory state-of-the-art examination of the finite element method with a view toward current and future fluid dynamic problems was conducted.
