Image Analysis and Modeling.
Abstract
The objective of this program is to achieve a better understanding of image structure and to use this knowledge to develop improved image models for use in image analysis and processing tasks such as information extraction, image enhancement and restoration, pattern recognition, image registration and coding, etc. The ultimate objective of this research is to form a basis for the development of technology related to military applications of machine extraction of information from aircraft and satellite imagery. Research efforts reported in this quarterly report include: Image Segmentation, Edge Detection, Image Decomposition, Image Noise Reduction, Image Texture Classification, etc.
