Patterns of Food Utilization in the DOD. Volume 2

Abstract

A series of tables, with instructions on their interpretation, present data on food utilization in each military service and in the Department of Defense (DoD) as a whole. The data cover food use on an item by item basis as well as in aggregate categories of major and minor food groups as well as process method. Separate sets of tables provide annual average and quarterly average usage values in pounds per ration; another set of tables lists annual average expenditures per ration. The data will facilitate logistic and operational planning for troop subsistence and provide a foundation for additional research and analysis in this area.
