Software Reliability Measurement.

Abstract

The report contains plans for a complete software reliability measurement program using both manual and automatic data entry. The program is to be run in conjunction with SAMTEC at Vandenberg AFB in an effort to establish measurement and evaluation criteria for the advanced systematic techniques for reliable operational software (ASTROS) project. An integral part of that project is the implementation and evaluation of structured programming techniques. Included in the report are all forms necessary to describe the software development environment, the hierarchy and size of programming modules, and to capture any significant events that will effect programming and test while they are in progress. Forms and instructions for their use for manual data collection are included, as are descriptions of items that could be collected automatically.
