A Preliminary Analysis of the Visit Rates of Patients in a Military Family Practice Health Care Program.

Abstract

This thesis provides a preliminary analysis of the visit rates of patients in a military family practice mode of health care. The history and basic operations of a family practice clinic at Fort Ord, California are briefly discussed. The process and problems of the sample selection and data collection are explained in detail. The analysis procedures are described fully. Comparisons of clinic utilization are accomplished and confidence intervals for the average visit rates are calculated. Visit rates to clinic groups (family practice, primary, and specialty) are discussed. Family practice referral patterns are analyzed. The sample is subdivided into Age/Sex groups and into Grade/Military Status groups. Conclusions and recommendations for future work are offered in the final section. (Author)
