Superconducting Solenoids for ULF and ELF Communications.

Abstract

Communication systems in the ELF and ULF frequency ranges have been proposed based on the use of rotating magnetic dipole antennas. This report considers the feasibility of constructing superconducting solenoids and their supporting dewar systems which are capable of producing the required magnetic moments subject to restrictions on size and weight of the overall system.
