Computional Study of the Acoustic Radiation from Periodically Varying Blade Loads with Particular Reference to Impulsive Blade Loading.

Abstract

This work examines the acoustic properties of periodic unsteady rotor blade forces. Computer programs have been developed to numerically evaluate the radiation equations for a variety of operating conditions and types of blade loading. The results obtained represent the free field, far field sound pressure level in terms of spectra and polar directivities, for both single and compound blade loading harmonics, and for single and multiple blade loading excursions.
