Abstract

The Acquisition Advisory Group (AAG) was established on 28 April 1975 by the Deputy Secretary of Defense. Its purpose was to examine and assess the recommendations contained in the reports of the Army Materiel Acquisition Review Committee (AMARC) dated 1 April 1975, the Navy Marine Corps Acquisition Review Committee (NMARC) dated January 1975, and related recommendations submitted by the Secretary of the Air Force as they relate to the organizational make-up, directives, instructions or other guidelines of the Secretary of Defense Pertaining to major weapon systems acquisition within the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
