On the Imaging of Incoherent Objects in a Turbulent Medium.

Abstract

It is demonstrated that, in turbulence, intensity interferometry and the related Labeyrie method give accurate (spatial) spectral information only about incoherent sources which are smaller than the spherical wave coherence length, rho sub 0. It is simultaneously shown that the isoplanatic distance in turbulence is approximately equal to rho sub 0.
