Present Concepts in Internal Medicine - Neurology Symposium, 1975,

Abstract

The symposium includes eight articles of which the first two review the role of coenzyme substances. The third paper is a discussion of how the thyroid hormone modulates function in many areas, and the fourth paper presents a correlation between liver dysfunction and the nervous system. The fifth paper presents some ideas of how the diabetic state may alter nervous tissue, and the role calcium in the entire neuromuscular system is outlined in the sixth paper. The seventh paper notes the possible influence of different humoral substances and how they play a role in migraine. The last article describes some of the important known facts concerning oxygen deficit in the nervous tissue.
