Working Paper on a Case Study on the Transfer of Space Technology

Abstract

An assessment is made of the role of technology transfer in Soviet space technology. The analysis is based on first-hand knowledge and insights available as a result of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. It is concluded that technology transfer has not had a significant role in the historical development of Soviet space technology. However, it may play an increasingly greater role in the future.
