Theoretical Investigation of Disordered Systems.

Abstract

There were two general areas of investigation covered during this granting period: properties of disordered systems, particularly substitutionally disordered alloys, and effects of strong interactions in many body systems, such as dilute magnetic alloys particularly with regard to understanding the fundamental aspects of magnetism. A third area was initiated near the end of the granting period: application of the constructs and methodology of solid state physics to problems in materials engineering.
