The Application of Electrets to Condenser Microphones.

Abstract

The disadvantage of conventional condenser microphones is the requirement of an external bias and the noise introduced by that supply. A series of experiments involved the use of the electret principle as a bias for condenser microphones. The experiments covered the dielectric material, fabrication of the microphone, and establishment and measurement of the electret voltages.
