Electromagnetic Field Penetration through Apertures.

Abstract

A numerical method is presented for determining the electromagnetic field diffracted by an aperture in an infinite conducting plate. Comparisons are made with the results of approximations valid at low frequencies and high frequencies, Calculations of the electromagnetic field components in the aperture, in the near zone of the aperture, and in the far zone of the aperture are made and compared with available measured data. To determine the electromagnetic pulse penetration through apertures the singularity expansion method is considered. Some preliminary data are presented. Finally the penetration of the electromagnetic field through apertures into cavities is discussed. (Author)
