Concept Development and Preliminary Hazard Analysis of Automated Handling Systems for High Explosives - SCAMP Module B

Abstract

This report encompasses the determination and preliminary analysis of material handling systems concepts for automatically measuring, dispensing, and transferring High Explosives and High Explosive Incendiaries. A set of system criteria is developed recognizing and conforming to physical, environmental, and safety constraints. These system requirements are used as a guide for determining two general system concepts for accomplishing the handling tasks listed earlier. A Preliminary Hazards Analysis is performed on the proposed system concept to identify, evaluate, and eliminate or control hazards of the system.
