Lead Initiation by M55 Detonator Across Air Gap

Abstract

Efficiency of detonation transfer, or acceptor initiation, was measured by the time required to transmit a detonation through the explosive acceptor charge. Measurement methods based on detonation electric signals and on pin switches were developed. These were used to explore some of the variables in detonation transfer from M55 detonators to acceptor charges across an air gap.
