An Analysis of Aviation Safety Information.

Abstract

The report contains an analysis of accident data used for measuring aviation safety. Different accident data bases (NTSB, FAA) are analyzed to determine the effect of discrepancies on the use of accident statistics. Results of the analysis show that there are no statistically significant differences in the data sources. Therefore, for analytical purposes, the results using either source of data, would be the same within a specified confidence interval.
