The Proceedings of the HumRRO Maintenance Conference (1st), 15-16 July 1957,

Abstract

This is a report of the First HumRRO Maintenance Conference held at the Central Office on 15-16 July 1957. The report is in two parts, the first a summary and conclusion, the second an edited transcript of the conferences proceedings. The purpose of the conference was to pose multiple sided questions for conference discussions. It was recognized that there were no 'good' and 'bad' sides to be on with respect to these questions. But it was hoped that the rationales for being on one side or the other could be exposed to the opinions of other conferees. In some cases these rationales were modified during the conference, in others it can be speculated that some modification took place later in privacy. Regardless of the effect such discussions had on individual conferees, it is hoped that the agreements obtained on certain points can be of use to HumRRO's Director and Directors of Research. It is largely for this purpose that a summary and conclusion has been abstracted from the discussions for each topic on the conference agenda.
