A Uniform Rational Approximation Program with Applications to Recursive Filter Design,

Abstract

A general algorithm which uses linear programming to compute rational approximations is discussed. This algorithm allows independent upper and lower constraints to be imposed on the frequency response of a recursive digital filter. Experimental results have been excellent. A FORTRAN listing of this program is available.
