Report on Implementation of the Modified Assessment Program (MAP) at USAIS.

Abstract

The present study was directed to determine the feasibility of utilizing the Modified Assessment Program (MAP) as a leadership development technique in the service school environment. To facilitate its infusion into the school environment, the MAP was supplemented with 20 hours of Advanced Leadership Subjects and conducted as an elective subject. The 40 hour course was presented to 23 randomly selected Infantry Officer Advanced Course students at Fort Benning, Georgia over a 12 week period. The program's effectiveness was examined in terms of attitude change and man-hours expended. The Leadership Q-Sort Test, along with two questionnaires, were administered before and after the program.
