The SACLANTCEN Shipborne Computer Environmental-Data Acquisition System. Volume 3. The Meteorological Data Subsystem.

Abstract

An automatic environmental data-logging and computing system installed on board SACLANTCEN's research vessel is described in a series of memoranda. This memorandum describes how measurements of wet and dry air temperature, sea-surface temperature, solar radiation and relative wind speed and direction are obtained and applied to the system. The output comprises magnetic tape records of raw data, paper tape records of converted (humidity and absolute wind speed and direction) and averaged data, and plots of averaged data. (Author)
