Some Observations of Radar Mechanics at a Nike Battalion.

Abstract

This paper reports observations made during August-October 1954 of a select group of Nike radar mechanics who were highly experienced in electronics, and briefly discusses the training needs that appear to be indicated by these observations. Methods of data collection, some characteristics of the men studied, opinions of the Nike radar mechanics about training, aids to maintenance, equipment considerations, factors influencing working echelon, and the electronics materiel specialist are also discussed.
