Technical and Economic Analysis of Efficiency of Application of an Aircraft Radio Rangefinder in a 1:10,000 Scale Topographic Survey,
Abstract
Data are presented on relative monetary and labor expenses of carrying out topographic surveys by conventional methods and by two versions of use of the aircraft radio rangefinder in radiogeogetic determinations. It appears to be more economical to use the area aerial photography course method in surveys of regions which are sparsely populated and difficult of access, but the skeleton course method is more advantageous in regions with limited aerial survey seasons or when a limited amount of radiogeodetic apparatus is available. Further economy and acceleration of work would be accomplished by automation of certain processes in the field radiogeodetic work and by smaller scale photography.
