The Data Administrator's Handbook.

Abstract

This report defines the role of the Data Administrator throughout the life cycle of a data management system. This role encompasses the functions of data base design, data base creation, data base integrity, data base efficiency, and data base administration. The report describes the problems that the Data Administrator may encounter, and the tools which are available to help solve those problems. It does not present solutions, because the solutions are dependent on the particular application involved, and the environment within which the Data Administrator must perform his functions.
