Temperature Effect on the Mechanical Properties of Aluminum Alloy 2124-T851

Abstract

The test material, aluminum alloy/temper 2124-T851, was a 2.5 inch (63.5 mm) thick plate. Variation in the test material's strength, toughness and cyclic loading crack growth rate were examined as influenced by test temperature or furnace exposure temperature.
