Inverse Problems in Naval Applications.

Abstract

The most widly studied inverse problem is probably the inverse scattering problem. In this problem there is either a source distribution, or an obstacle, or some other type of scattering inhomogeneity (usually of finite extent). The objective of the inverse problem is to reconstruct the position, trajectory and shape of the scatterer. (Author)
