VHF Monolithic Filters.

Abstract

Six-pole tandem monolithic filters with a 6 dB bandwidth of 40 kHz were fabricated at 150 MHz using third overtone plates. Both non-linear resonance and intermodulation phenomena were studied in some detail. Theoretical power handling limitations were established. The linear theory of thickness-shear resonators was modified to include overtones of thickness-shear and further extended to include rectangular electrodes. From these results, improved design techniques for filter crystals and monolithic filters are directly obtainable.
