Virus Elimination in Water and Wastewater.

Abstract

The effectiveness of various techniques for disinfecting sewage and drinking water are discussed. Special emphasis is given to the elimination of viruses. Basic concepts of water and wastewater treatment such as coagulation, filtration, ozonation, and chlorination are reviewed. Information is presented on economically feasible methods for improving virus removal through the application of new technology to conventional treatment techniques. (Author)
