A Computer Model for the Calculation of Thermodynamic Properties of Working Fluids of a Gas Turbine Engine
Abstract
A computer model is presented for the calculation of the thermodynamic properties of air and the exhaust gas from a gas turbine. The model was developed specifically to include the requirements for on-line data reduction systems. These requirements include minimum memory and calculation time and constituents and their thermodynamic properties that may be readily located and altered if necessary. The model is based on air and hydrocarbon fuels and includes real gas effects (intermolecular forces and chemical dissociation). equations for the thermodynamic properties of the constituents of air and exhaust gas are included. Calculated data form this program are compared with data from sources currently in use in the gas turbine industry.
