United States Technology a Study of Real and Imagined Power,

Abstract

The US is currently involved in a long-term struggle to maintain its position of power in the world. Much of the power the US has is the result of the advanced state of technology. There is considerable evidence to indicate that the US is not maintaining the advantage which has been enjoyed in the past. Tf there is a degredation of technological status in the US, the short and long term implications must be examined. The USSR makes large investments in research and development with the intention of gaining superiority in world conflict. Positive response of the US civilian and military populations to this threat is absolutely essential.
