Some Aspects of Strain Gauge Quality,

Abstract

The strain gage quality concept is discussed from the user's point of view, and from the aspect of development. Numerical values of several quantities participating to define the quality of a specified strain gage assembly can be determined in the FFA strain laboratory, the measurement uncertainties of which are listed. Values determined for some quantities are shown: long-term change of gage factor, gage factor dependence on cement type, thermal zero drift, instantaneous gage factor dependence on temperature, and cross sensitivity.
