Bottom Reverberation in the North Atlantic.

Abstract

Bottom reverberation measurements made at 123 sites in different physiographic provinces in the North Atlantic are described. From these measurements bottom backscattering strengths have been computed as a function of grazing angle between 35 deg and 75 deg for octave frequency bands ranging from that centred at 141 Hz to that at 18.1 kHz. The results are presented in tabular form and are also compared with other published data from the appropriate physiographic provinces. (Author)
