Abstract

The subject of the document is usually called privacy or some variation such as computer privacy. The issue discussed is that of personal information contained in recordkeeping systems. It includes the way such information is used or abused, the possible impact of it on individuals, and the mechanisms that society will have to create to assure that no one is harmed in some way as a consequence of the operation of some recordkeeping system.
