System Implications of Demand Assignment.

Abstract

The extent to which satellite communications will play a role as part of the future switched DCS common user systems, is at least partially dependent upon the overall efficiencies which are achievable through demand assignment of resources. This Technical Note looks at some of the available demand assignment techniques for the common user environment, and develops tradeoffs and system analysis approaches which relate earth and space segment complexities and which help analyze the potential payoffs of demand assignment of satellite facilities.
