Test Design Plan for Baseline Armor Reliability Test.

Abstract

This test will establish baseline reliability for the M60A1 and M48A5 tanks now used by the US Army; therefore, the test must provide completely credible data. Every failure and every maintenance action must be completely documented and verified. This requires a major effort in data collection effort during the entire test, demanding assignment of qualified data collectors to each of the 15 tanks of full-time maintenance data collectors at unit, organizational, and support maintenance activities. All data collector assignments should be stabilized for the duration of the test.
