Evaluation of Alternative Base Oil Viscosities for Spectrometric Calibration Standards,

Abstract

This study was to discover whether or not the level of accuracy obtained by spectrometric analysis is significantly affected by a change in the viscosity of the base oil used in the preparation of calibration standards. The 37.9 and 245.0 viscosity base oils were examined over a range of 12 elements and six concentration levels. No statistically significant difference was found.
