Light Scattering from Electrochemical Interfaces.

Abstract

Specific topics covered in this review include: (1) Mechanisms for the electromodulation of the reflectance of metal-electrolyte interfaces involving surface conductivity, surface plasmons, bound electronic state contributions and ionic double layer effects; (2) Optical models for the quantitative interpretation of the reflectance changes caused by adsorbed layers; (3) Optical studies of adsorption kinetics; (4) Optical techniques for the study of surface roughness.
