Application of Thermal Imaging Techniques in the Field under Extreme Cold Conditions.

Abstract

A thermal imaging camera, modified for operation under extremely cold conditions, was used to examine the thermal properties of CF clothing and equipment items during a winter exercise. Photographs are presented to illustrate the capabilities of the modified thermal imaging system in detecting heat loss from clothing and equipment.
