Generalized Boundary Value Problems and B-Splines.

Abstract

The existence of two types of local support bases is investigated and a Curry-Schoenberg type basis theorem is proven for classes of splines viewed as orthogonal complements of the ranges of certain minimal operators determined by Stieltjes side conditions. The theory is illustrated by several examples. (Author)
