Study of Hydrofoil Design for the HOC.

Abstract

The hydrodynamic performance of several candidate hydrofoil configurations for the proposed HOC craft is evaluated. This study includes the effects of all drag components including spray, wave, interference, induced pressure and friction drag. The effects of cavitation and ventilation on foil performance is also assessed in order to achieve a balanced design which optimizes performance.
