Low-Energy Particle Experiment.

Abstract

This program is directed toward an improved understanding of the sources and energization, transport and loss processes associated with the low-energy (keV) plasmas in the earth's magnetosphere, particularly as they relate to the ionospheric perturbations and ionospheric-magnetospheric coupling. A low-energy particle experiment is planned for flight on the polar-orbiting Air Force S3-3 (STP 74-2) satellite. (Author)
