Integral Theory of Impact: Status.
Abstract
A theory for projectile impact is being developed. Accomplishments are summarized in this interim report. Two technical reports which present developments in detail are summarized herein. Also an analysis of penetration is presented which shows that two new characteristic properties of a target material must be measured in order to predict impact penetration. Based on these analyses, several materials are ranked relative to their use as armor. The need for more tests is emphasized. (Author)
